Full Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Our tour guide will meet and greet you upon arrival to Hanoi. Transfer to hotel in the city. Rest of time at your own leisure or if you arrive in Hanoi in the morning, we will organize a short trip for you to explore the charming city with some stops to visit essential sites. Day 2: Hanoi - Ninh Binh (B, L, D)

Breakfast at hotel and then we will transfer you to Ninh Binh for the 2-hour drive through rural northern Vietnam to the site of Vietnam's first capital, Hoa Lu. Ready the bikes and start the trail route cycling to the temples dedicated to Kings Dinh and Le. Touring the temples and then we continue cycling for 1-hour to Tam Coc through stunning limestone karst valleys surrounded by picturesque fields and villages, along the way stop where you wish to take photographs. Having Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant and then we board a private sampan for a leisurely 2.5-hour cruise. Proceed to visit floating village of Kenh Ga - set amongst stunning limestone scenery and a network of peaceful waterways, walking around scenic outcrops and open rice fields. Enjoy local cuisines and stay overnight at hotel in Ninh Binh.

Day 3: Ninh Binh - Mai Chau (B, L, D)

Morning drive to Hoa Binh through very beautiful countryside roads where you can take many good photos. Check-in Mai Chau Ecolodge - Mai Chau Lodge is a heavenly world offering you the ultimate in natural relaxation. Swimming pools and a variety of leisure facilities provide something for everyone, whether it's an adventure you seek, or simply a means to unwind. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Mai Chau Touring (B, L, D)

Today is full of activities of your choice: walk, long trek or cycling with picnic lunch and dinner included. Over night in the homestay with local rice wine to add up the flavour of the day. Another great option is kayaking on the reservoir.

Kayaking Hoa Binh reservoir (lake) can be an experience of a life time. The gorgeous beauty of the reservoir can be fully reflected whilst paddling among evergreen tropical forest, karst mountains and numerous hill tribe villages. Nature and human intermingled within tranquility, just as calm as the slow moving water of this country’s largest man-made reservoir. Dinner and overnight at Mai Chau Lodge.

Day 5: Mai Chau - Hanoi - Sapa (B, L, D)

Complete the circle of the tour heading back to Mai Chau Lodge where lunch is served. Drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon. Check-in a mini hotel to relax and take shower and then we will go to a local restaurant for dinner and then take an overnight train at 21: 55 to Lao Cai (Sapa). Overnight on the train.

Day 6: Lao Cai - Sapa (B, L, D)

The train arrives in Lao Cai at 05: 00 am. Drive uphill to Sapa. At an elevation of 1, 500 meters, Sapa is the former hill retreat for French administrators when the heat in plain became unbearable. The remoteness and simple lifestyle of ethnic minorities are a highlight of Sapa although conditions are very basic. At 9h00, you will commence your journey from Sapa by car to Lao Chai village, a Black H'mong ethnic minority village. You will then be able to walk from Lao Chai to Ta Van village where the Giay ethnic minority hill tribe lives. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by your guide in a local house. After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After taking a rest near a waterfall to refresh, you start climbing uphill to a road where the car is waiting to transfer you to Topas Ecolodge. You check in to your bungalow and enjoy the view into the valley and dotted mountain surroundings.

Day 7: Sapa Village Trek (B, L, D)

At 9h00, you will commence the walk today by following the road for a while before turning on a small trail running downhill toward a suspension bridge at the bottom of the valley set over the long beautiful river. The walk is through the rice paddy terraces, hill sides and you have many opportunities to enjoy the magnificent valley views and encounter animals like water buffalos, goats or mountain pigs, which belong to the nearby Tay and Red Dao minorities, but are living their wide life. At noon you will cross the suspension bridge and enjoy lunch in a Tay minority stilt house. After lunch, you will follow another trail along the river towards the Ban Ho village, also inhabited by Tay ethnic minority. If the weather permits, you can walk to a small waterfall near the village, where it is possible to swim. Ban Ho is situated in the large picturesque valley beneath Topas Ecolodge. Here you will experience the daily activities of the villagers before being transferred back to Topas Ecolodge. Stay overnight at your bungalow.

Day 8: Back to Sapa - Hanoi (B, L, D)

Today we will come back to Sapa by our private vehicle. Check-in hotel and spend your time to wander around the town. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.

Day 9: Sapa - Hanoi (B, L, D)

At leisure for whole day or an optional hill tribe market tours (held on Wed, Sat, Sun) shall be organized so that you could capture the best of the region and then board night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.

Day 10: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Pick up at station at 06: 00 and depart for Halong Bay, we go through the scenic countryside. The wondrous Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. Heading out of the town we embark on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3, 000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. Stay overnight on the Junk Cruise.

Day 11: Halong Bay - Cat Ba Island (B, L)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to a day trip boat and we start cruising to Cat Ba National Park, passing floating fishing villages along the way. Trekking through remote Viet Hai Village on winding trail with limestone cliffs rising from ground beside, you will have a chance to discover the traditional life of local residents. Climb up to the peak of the mountain for a panorama view of Halong bay and Viet Hai valley, the heart of Cat Ba National Park, lunch in the village. Cruising to the pier in Cat Ba town and transfer to hotel. Stay overnight at Sunrise Beach Resort.

Day 12: Cat Ba at leisure (B)

Spend a day at leisure by your own to relax and unwind..

Day 13: Cat Ba - Hai Phong - Hanoi (B)

At noon time, we will take a hydrofoil to Hai Phong City and then our car is awaiting for you there to transfer back to Hanoi. Check-in and at stay overnight in Hanoi.

Day 14: Hanoi - Hue (B, L, D)

Transferring to the airport to catch morning flight to Hue. Check-in hotel upon arrival and take refresh for a while. Hue served as Vietnam's capital under the emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945 and the city’s regal past can still be seen inside the walls of the Citadel and the Imperial City. Day 15: Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An (B, L, D)

Morning touring to visit the royal mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and the beautiful Thien Mu Pagoda are not to be missed. We include these in a guided cruise on the Perfume River, which also gives us a taste of the tranquil countryside and then we drive to Hoi An, we will cross Hai Van Pass where you will have magnificent view of the East Sea. Proceeding to Hoi An. Check-in and rest of time at your own leisure.

Day 16: Hoi An (B, L, D)

Morning cycling to Tra Que village - the little charming vegetable village located on the edge of Hoi An town. The village is famous for its sweet scented & green vegetables that spice up on the daily meals of Hoi An people: Cao Lau and Quang noodles. The country road to Tra Que winds through rice paddies and timeless rural landscapes. At Tra Que see traditional gardening of herbs and vegetables. Cycling back to Hoi An town -Known as Faifo to early Western traders, it was one of South East Asia's major international ports and today it still retains that special old-world feel. We will enjoy few hour walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Hoi An is also famous for its large number of tailor shops, so if you want to have a new wardrobe made up, this is the time to do it. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An.

Day 17: Hoi An - Nha Trang (B)

A short flight will take you to Nha Trang - a beautiful coastal city and "The Top 100 Best Beach & Bay City in the World" ranked by the Forbes and Condé Nast Travellers. Nha Trang is a popular seaside resort known for its palm-lined white sand beaches and clear turquoise water. Some islands in Nha Trang are paradise for those who are interested in snorkeling and scuba diving. At leisure and overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 18: Nha Trang Island Boat Trip (B, L, D)

Experience the coast of Nha Trang aboard a boat as we set out in the morning, for our first stop at the aquarium. We then head out to nearby islands and a marine reserve. Snorkeling and swimming over the coral reefs in warm, clear water, followed by sunbathing and seafood lunch. Back to the city and experience mud bathing and then back to your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Nha Trang.

Day 19: Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, D)

Morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City and you will be met by our tour guide upon arrival at the airport in Ho Chi Minh City, which is formerly known as Saigon, it is a sprawling metropolis that is home to over 5 million people and a fast-paced city full of contrasts as street vendors selling fruit and vegetables can be seen next to glitzy western-style bars and boutiques. Saigon’s history is only 300 years old. In 1859 the city was captured by the French and became the capital of Cochin China. A few hour leisure sightseeing tours shall be organized to help you get captured the essential sites of the city. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 20: Mekong Delta Tour (B, L, D)

We will start the trip at 07: 30 am and head for Vinh Long province. Boarding our beautiful traditional boat. This five hour river cruise takes you through Vietnam’s most productive agricultural area. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of coconut palms, sugar-cane groves and fruit orchards from the vessel as you head to the Cai Be floating market. Here you can cruise through the colourful barges full of fruits and vegetables and then proceed to local home factories such as rice paste making, rice pop corn, coco candies, and longans drying processing. The trip continues along the Mekong canals to Dong Hoa Hiep Island located between Vinh Long and Cai Be. Along the way you will find the local people engaged in their daily tasks and see brightly coloured Khemer pagodas. Stops on the way can be made upon request for particular visits or photos making. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many people. Arrive at La Residence de Phu An resort where you will be welcomed and served Vietnamese culinary delights. You will then walk along a narrow canal to an air-conditioned vehicle that will transport you back to Saigon City. Stay at hotel in Saigon.

Day 21: Depart Saigon (Meals: B)

At leisure until we will drive you to the airport for your departure flight onward or back to home. End of service.
