Itinerary
This 4 days adventure tour ends at the top of Mount Fansipan, the "Rooftop of Indochina". Enjoy the colonial charms of Hanoi before meeting the Black H’mong tribe in Sapa and camping under the stars on the slopes of Mount Fansipan
Night 1: Hanoi - Laocai
At 08: 30 pm our tour guide will pick you up at hotel lobby to escort you to the Hanoi railway station for night train to Sapa. The train conditions are very basic however we will travel in soft sleeper class which is compartment for 4 passengers. Overnight on the train.
Day 1: Laocai - Sapa (L, D)
Train arrives at Laocai Railway Station at 06.00AM, transferred to Sapa by bus. Have your breakfast at restaurant in the town and have a walk to Sapa market to see the local people purchasing the product. We start out together with our team of Black Hmong porters from Sa Pa around 9.00 am and head for the Black Hmong village of Sin Chai in the bottom of the valley. Soon thereafter the ascend starts and we will walk for about three hours before our cook serves a well prepared lunch in the forest. We continue our climb and around 4.30 pm we arrive at our campsite at approximately 2500 m. The tents are raised for your comfort and the cook is already busy preparing a well deserved dinner. It is time to enjoy the fresh air and the nocturnal sounds of nature.
Day 2: 2500m - Top of mountain - 2700 m (B, L, D)
After having breakfast, you climb to the top where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. The walk is very strenuous at times so some physical preparation will enable you to maximize enjoyment from the trip. After lunch, you start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2700m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent.
Day 3: 2700m - Sapa (B, L)
Maybe your body feels a bit busted, but a refreshing cup of coffee and some breakfast gives new energy to the descend from the mountain. After the camp has been packed down we start walking around 9.00 am. We enjoy lunch in the forest before reaching Sa Pa in the early afternoon, rushing for a cold drink and a hot shower. Stay over night at hotel in Sapa
Day 4: Sapa free - Laocai Railway Station
Free on your own to explore Sapa town or hang around the market until time transfer back to Laocai railway station for night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train
Day 5: Hanoi - Arrives
Train arrive Hanoi around 06: 00 am, tour finish at railway station.
Note: Climb a 3413m ASL Mountain in just three days takes some effort, endurance and plenty of high spirit. The night will be spent in tent with toilet tent provided. The trip is not recommended in bad weather due to safety.
